3 Exercises To Do After Getting Your COVID-19 Vaccine

Did your bit by rolling up your sleeve to prevent the spread of the virus? You may be wondering if exercise post COVID-19 vaccine is a no or a go . It is advisable to stick to gentle exercise at least within the first 48 hours . Gentle exercises such as walking and light strengthening exercises can be done while you are waiting out the side effects of the Covid 19 vaccine.

However, the general rule of thumb would be to go easy on your exercises because remember your immune system is working hard in response to the vaccine so it doesn’t hurt to treat your body gently.

1. Shoulder Flexion Stretch

Starting with an easy one! Stand behind a chair and lower your upper body by bending forward. Maintain that position for about 30-45 seconds.

2. Thread the needle

Your upper back will thank you after doing this exercise! Its simple, firstly start of in a quadraped position, knees under hip and hands under the shoulders, reach under with one hand, come back and rotate the trunk to raise the hand toward the ceiling. Continue to thread the needle for 10 times, and do 3 sets of this 3 times a day.

3. Muscle release with a trigger ball

Finally, treat yourself to a DIY massage with a trigger ball!

These simple stretches, strengthening exercises and muscle release would hopefully help you get out of your bed and get moving if you’re feeling a stuck in your room while recovering from the side effects of getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
