Five Great Exercises You Can Do At Home With Zero Equipment

Wanting to exercise but have no equipment at home or no gym membership? Have a look at these 6 exercises you can perform with zero gym equipment!

1. Squat

The squat is an awesome functional movement pattern that is more than likely in one way or another utilised almost every day of our lives. The squat works all of our lower limb muscles. Not only does it work the lower limbs, but also requires activation of your core and back muscles during the movement to help with stability. If a squat is too easy, how about making it harder by progressing to a lunge and then a split squat!

2. Decline pushups

Decline pushups are another variation of the push-up but more so also targeting the shoulders. It is still very much so a chest-orientated exercise, but now with more effort required to be put in by our shoulders. The steeper the decline is the more it will work the shoulders.

3. Glute Bridges

Glute bridges are another great exercise, mostly loved for their bum-building capabilities. However, they are an awesome exercise for glute development, and depending on how you perform them, hamstring too. If a standard glute bridge is too easy, try some variations which include one leg or by having your feet further away for more hamstring activation.

4. Calf raises

You don’t want to be known as the person who skips leg day at the gym, do you? If not, incorporate some calf raises into your exercise routine! Straight leg calf raises are usually doable for most people, so if you find them exceptionally easy try switching to performing them with a single leg only.

5. Mountain climbers

Mountain climbers are an awesome exercise which really works rotational strength within the trunk of the body. This means yes, it is a core exercise! Not only do they work the trunk, but arms, legs and probably will give a bit of a challenge to your heart too.

Give these exercises a shot, you can incorporate them all to do quite a decent full-body exercise program!
