What is Plantar Fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis is a condition where the thick band of tissue running along the bottom of your foot (the plantar fascia) becomes irritated. This band helps support your arch and absorb shock when you walk or run. When it’s under too much stress, tiny tears can develop, causing pain and inflammation.

Common Signs and Symptoms:

  • Sharp or stabbing foot and/or heel pain, especially when you first get up in the morning or after sitting for a while
  • Pain that eases with movement but returns after long periods of standing or walking
  • A feeling of tightness in the bottom of the foot or arch

  • Changes in activity levels (like suddenly walking or running more than usual)
