Physiotherapy is an effective treatment for cervicogenic headaches. By carefully restoring proper movement to the spinal joints of the neck, your physiotherapist is able to significantly reduce the presence of nerve irritation and muscle tension helping to alleviate the cause of your headaches.

A cervicogenic headache commonly presents as a steady, non-throbbing pain at the back and base of the skull, sometimes extending downward into the neck and between the shoulder blades. Pain may be felt behind the brow and forehead, even though the problem originates from the cervical spine.

The truth is – as we are all unique, same as the cause of our headaches as well as our healing process. Whilst most of our clients report good relief after initial session, some may need a few more sessions before they can see a lasting benefit. It can depend on your age, your daily activities and the cause of your cervicogenic headaches. For example, if the headache is related to your neck posture, we will need to get some neck exercises going to strengthen and stretch your muscles to help prevent your headache coming back

Yes we do! If your GP has referred you to us we accept the GP management plan as part of your treatment and rehabilitation.

No! We accept clients from any source, and without having to see a doctor prior to seeing us. We also accept referrals from clients who have been in workplace (WorkCover) or car (CTP) accidents. If you have a WorkCover or CTP claim number, bring these details with you to your first appointment.

There is free street parking available outside the premises, however it can be hard to sometimes find a spot. A safer bet is to enter “31 Meredith Street Bankstown” on google maps. This will navigate you to a carpark which is located behind the clinic and has ample free parking!

There is a wheelchair and pram accessible ramp on right side of the building entry. There are no steps once inside the practice.
