Pilates Classes at UniquePhysio: what do they involve?

Have you been hearing about Pilates and are wanting to get involved? Are you thinking of adding a new workout to your routine to improve your overall strength, flexibility and general health? Read on to learn about Pilates and the Pilates classes we offer at UniquePhysio!

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a form of low impact exercise that focuses on strength, core stability and control, flexibility, posture and breathing. Pilates exercises can be performed on the floor/mat, or on Pilates-specific equipment, such as the Reformer, Cadillac/Trapeze Table or Wunda Chair.

How are Pilates classes run at UniquePhysio?

Pilates classes at UniquePhysio are 45 minutes in duration and are held on multiple days throughout the week (please contact us for our class timetable). We run morning and evening classes to ensure that there is availability depending on your schedule. We take you through a series of exercises on our Pilates Reformers and our new Trapeze Tables, targeting a variety of areas of the body and aspects of movement. Our classes include up to 4 participants to ensure a comfortable and safe environment, and a more individualised program for each person. So whether you’re a beginner or someone with previous experience in Pilates, our classes can be adjusted to your level.

At UniquePhysio, our Pilates classes are also run by our own physiotherapists and exercise physiologists throughout the week. Therefore, if you’re experiencing a health condition or injury, such as back pain, diabetes, or even pregnancy, we can help supervise your exercises and tailor our session to suit your needs.
